Business description
14 days per 4-week period (“three and a half days per week”) regular work over a 48-week year. Annual income before expenses/tax £25,000.11 good regular clients, most well established, some for as long as 12 years.
These clients would be suitable only for someone with good gardening knowledge, and a definite interest in the subject. Mainly horticultural garden maintenance, some basic gardening, with some design and planting/development on a small scale.
All clients situated within a 5-mile radius of Watford, Herts. Work is year-round, but inevitably bad weather and so on means that work is delayed in the winter and then has to be caught up on during workable conditions. One, two, or three of the clients may wish to reduce the hours in winter, but there may be ways around this. This would affect only about 2 ½ hours per week. However, one client is about to undertake building works in his garden, and this will involve a lot of extra work lifting, potting, and re-planting all manner of plants from bulbs to shrubs. All this work can be charged for by the hour, and is due to commence in earnest from about late summer 2008. With the exception of one customer, who is equivalent to 1 hour per fortnight (adjusted according to season), all are charged by the hour. The exception is charged a monthly fee.
I am also offering to introduce the buyer to all clients and give them assistance in starting off. I can also pass on valuable advice and contacts’/suppliers’ details.
Optional to this sale are a van, tools, consumables, and gardening literature. If the clients are purchased without these, then the selling price is reduced.
Offers invited.
