Founded over 25 years ago, it has been in the
ownership of the current vendors for 5 years
and is only now being reluctantly offered for
sale as they wish to pursue an unrelated
business venture.
The business operates as a general store with
a two position post office and stocks:
• Ice cream and confectionery
• Stationery
• Soft drinks
• CD’s and DVD’s
• Cigarettes and tobacco
• Gift cards and wrapping paper
• Toiletries
• Books, toys, gifts and handbags
• Speciality products from South
Africa such as biscuits,
confectionery and dried meats
In addition, they also offer dry cleaning, film
processing, faxing and photocopying.
Customers are mainly drawn from the
surrounding densely populated residential
area as they are able to park free of charge
along the parade and in the nearby streets.
It has been confirmed that the post office is
being kept open.
Included within the post office remit is the
national lottery, cash machine, international
telephone cards and top ups. The post office
salary for the 2007/08 tax year was
£51,655.
The business, which is run almost totally on
management employs 1 full time manager as
well as 6 part time staff, who work a total
of 80 hours per week.
