the market this well established power boat
business.
It has been trading, with an excellent
reputation since 1989 when the current
owner established the going concern.
Our client has now decided to sell to enable
him to spend more time with his family.
Our client is an importer and main dealer for
Bayliner sports boats and cruisers. The
vendor has informed us that there are only 7
importers in total in the UK.
The business is also a main service centre in
terms of sales, repairs and the sales of new
engines for:
• Mercruiser
• Mariner
• Suzuki
• Mercury
The value of boats sold varies from £12,000
up to £145,000 each.
The nearest competition is at Lincoln,
approximately 60 miles, Windermere at 130
miles and one at 45 miles.
The majority of revenue is generated via boat
sales with additional revenues from a retail
shop selling boating chandlery and engines.
Our client has a website. Stock at cost is in
the region of £250,000 to £275,000.
Advertising is conducted in Sports Boat,
Boat Trader and Boat Mart as well as some
internet advertising.
The business is staffed by 1 receptionist, 1
self employed mechanic, 1 self employed
transporter and the husband and wife
owners.
Our client is willing to conduct a detailed
hand over, subject to negotiation.
The vendor exhibits at two trade shows
annually. Excel in London in January and
Southampton in September.
The vendor has informed us that if
advertising and opening 7 days, sales would
increase further.
