Business description

After taking an Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on the testing and servicing of injection moulding machines, the vendor of this well respected business, became self employed in the early 1980’s. Initially the company focused on the contracted service and repair of injection and blow moulding machinery to the wider marketplace. It was in the 1980’s, that the vendor first started buying and selling machinery, after numerous requests from clients to source high quality 2nd hand capital equipment.

In the 1990’s the buying, refurbishment, and selling of the machinery took on a life of it’s own, and became a major source of revenue. At that time, the current limited company was formed. With a respected and very well known trade name, the business has gone from strength to strength. The vendor kept a service and repair side to the business, building a dedicated and professional team of field engineers.

Due to the recent market conditions, the vendor took the decision to moth-ball the service side of the business in 2009, and concentrate purely on the buying and selling of machinery. The field service side, still has a very strong name in the industry, and once market conditions are right, this can be easily re-started, or combined with the current business of a new owner.

The company has built up stock levels, and currently houses a number of machines, of all sizes, in secure and low-cost warehousing. The market value of the machinery in stock is approximately £500,000. With larger machinery, which is sourced to order, the machines are delivered direct from one premises to another, without storage as this would be un-economic for all concerned.
