A well respected and successful south coast language school providing Spanish language tuition for both adults and children on an individual or group basis, delivered by part-time courses and extra curricular activities.

This unrivalled business was formed by its native Spanish speaking owner 4 years ago to initially address a gap in the market for adults to learn conversational and business Spanish. Within a few months of operation, the owner identified yet another gap in the market and subsequently introduced after-school Spanish classes into 20 local primary schools.

Further developing this theme, and to help maintain continuity of learning, a ‘holiday club’ was also formed to enable school children to further develop Spanish language skills during half-term and school holidays. This rapidly growing aspect of the business boasts OFSTED registration and, as such, is truly unique in the region.

On the strength of its success and enviable reputation, the school has recently won a public tender to operate the European Commission’s Leonardo da Vinci programme. The programme funds practical projects in the field of vocational education and training and will run for the next 2 years (2010 – 2012).

Starting the language school from scratch 4 years ago, the owner has grown the business to a respectable turnover of £71,600 by the end of 2009, returning net earnings of just under £25,000. Prospects for continued growth are realistic, due in no small part to government funding of many Spanish courses at local adult education centres has ceased completely.

The owner is wishing to sell due to plans to extend her family.
